DTN Closing Grain Comments 10/31 13:48 Wheat, Corn Markets Gap Higher on Ukraine News; Soybeans Follow Bean Oil Strength Wheat and corn prices gapped higher to solid gains in Sunday's overnight, as Russia declared it would no longer support the Black Sea Grain Initiative. A weekend drone attack on Russian vessels in Crimea was blamed on Ukraine. Soybeans were along for the ride, dipped below unchanged at midsession before roaring back to finish strong. The uncertainty of what's to come will keep wheat trade erratic and volatile for weeks. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed up 10 3/4 cents per bushel and March corn was up 10 cents. November soybeans closed up 19 1/4 cents and January soybeans were also up 19 1/4 cents. December KC wheat closed up 53 3/4 cents, December Chicago wheat was up 53 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 26 1/4 cents. The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.809 at 111.415. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 40.38 points at 32,821.42. December gold is down $5.80 at $1,639.00, December silver is down $0.00 at $19.15 and December copper is down $0.0480 at $3.3810. December crude oil is down $1.46 at $86.44, December heating oil is down $0.0632, December RBOB is down $0.0364 and December natural gas is up $0.656.
