DTN Closing Grain Comments 11/01 13:54 Soybeans Surge for Second Straight Day; Wheat Recovers From Early Doldrums It was a mostly positive day for ag commodities, as soybeans soared to big gains, while wheat markets, under pressure early, recovered to keep the recent rally intact. Corn finished solidly higher, nearing the $7.00 level again. Uncertainty surrounding the Black Sea Grain Initiative is likely to keep wheat volatile, while three straight weeks of monster soy shipments despite the river issues have fired up the bean bulls. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed up 6 1/4 cents per bushel, January soybeans finished up 28 1/4 cents, December KC wheat closed up 11 1/4 cents, December Chicago wheat closed up 20 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 4 3/4 cents. The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.040 at 111.380. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 87.55 points at 32,645.40. December gold is up $11.70 at $1,652.40, December silver is up $0.58 at $19.70 and December copper is up $0.0985 at $3.4735. December crude oil is up $1.86 at $88.39, December heating oil is down $0.0511, December RBOB is up $0.0695, and December natural gas is down $0.628.
