White wheat fared relatively better as the USDA confirmed yet another week of relatively good export demand. Weekly Sales...USDA reported that U.S. wheat export demand beat the four-week average for the second week in a row, putting overall sales at 447 mb and 6% ahead of a year ago. White wheat was the top seller once again, recording 5.3 mb to put commitments at 106 mb and 24% ahead of a year ago. Hard red spring registered 3.6 mb and with 133 mb in sales is running 5% ahead of a year ago. Hard red winter recorded 3.1 mb for the week to put commitments at 123 mb and 35% behind a year ago. Top Buyers...South Korea booked 3 mb of U.S. wheat last week to claim the top buyer spot, followed by 2.3 mb for Indonesia. Both buys were for white wheat and show interest from swing buyers in securing white wheat against potential Australian supply issues. White wheat commitments are up 20 mb from a year ago, and Indonesia accounts for 11 mb of that year- to-date increase. White wheat sales to Yemen are also up 6 mb. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2022 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
