DTN Closing Grain Comments 11/04 13:53 Soybeans, Bean Oil Surge; Corn Struggles, But Closes Higher as Demand Remains Weak Soybean and bean oil prices surged early Friday, supported by the strong macro market response to a better-than-expected jobs report. At one point, the Dow was up nearly 600 points and crude oil over $4.00, while the dollar sank. Strong demand for oils for biodiesel has rallied bean oil nearly 16 cents per pound since the end of September, pulling up soybeans as well. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed up 1 3/4 cents per bushel and March corn was up 2 cents. November soybeans closed up 24 3/4 cents and January soybeans were up 25 1/4 cents. December KC wheat closed up 12 cents, December Chicago wheat was up 7 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 11 1/2 cents. The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 1.789 at 111.015. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 64.47 points at 32,065.72. December gold is up $47.40 at $1,678.30, December silver is up $1.41 at $20.84 and December copper is up $0.2625 at $3.6895. December crude oil is up $4.34 at $92.51, December heating oil is up $0.0329, December RBOB is up $0.0423 and December natural gas is up $0.447.
