DTN Early Word Grains 11/04 05:53 Grains Look to End Week on Firm Note December corn is up 5 1/4 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 13 1/4 cents, and December KC wheat is up 13 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn is up 5 1/4 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 13 1/4 cents, and December KC wheat is up 13 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Macro markets are higher overnight with global equities firmer heading into the weekend. Energy markets are sharply higher overnight as well with spot crude oil prices up 3.0% and back over $90.00 per barrel. The U.S. Dollar Index is solidly weaker, down 0.37%, although short-term trends are still higher. Metals are firmer with copper surging by over 4% in the overnight session and hitting the highest level in a month. Grain markets are also higher with gains being led by wheat and soy products as the ag room looks to most contracts closing higher on the week. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 146.51 at 32,001.25 and the S&P 500 down 39.80 at 3,759.69 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.124%. Early Friday, the December DJIA futures are up 201 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 463.65 (-1.68%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 72.99 points (2.43%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 70.01 points (0.97%), Germany's DAX up 189.45 points (1.44%) and France's CAC 40 up 110.33 points (1.77%). The December Euro is up 0.004 at 0.980 and the December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.414 at 112.390. The December 30-Year T-Bond is down 14/32nds, while December gold is up $21.60 at $1,652.50 and December crude oil is up $2.88 at $91.05. Corn on China's Dalian Exchange was up 0.71% while soybeans were down 0.54% and soybean meal was down 0.73%.
