DTN Early Word Grains 11/07 05:51 Weaker Start to the Week for Grains December corn is down 2 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 2 1/2 cents, and December KC wheat is down 4 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn is down 2 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 2 1/2 cents, and December KC wheat is down 4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Global equities are starting the week on a firmer note with U.S. futures adding to Friday's gains so far. Layoffs in the tech sector continue to dominate financial media with Facebook's parent Meta the latest company to announce thousands of layoffs, joining an announcement from Twitter last week. Energy markets are lightly mixed, except for natural gas, which is up 9.1% near $7.00 early Monday morning. The U.S. Dollar Index is weaker, down 0.3% and following through on Friday's losses. Metals are mixed with gold up but copper and silver down. Grain markets are mostly weaker overnight but have recovered from the overnight lows. The November WASDE is Wednesday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 401.97 at 32,403.22 and the S&P 500 up 50.66 at 3,719.89 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.156%. Early Monday, the December DJIA futures are up 173 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 327.9 (1.21%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 7.02 points (0.23%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 down 9.82 points (-0.13%), Germany's DAX up 139.72 points (1.02%) and France's CAC 40 up 10.49 points (0.16%). The December Euro is up 0.004 at 1.000 and the December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.369 at 110.405. The December 30-Year T-Bond is up 9/32nds, while December gold is up $3.70 at $1,680.30 and December crude oil is down $0.23 at $92.38. Corn on China's Dalian Exchange was up 0.6% while soybeans were up 0.18% and soybean meal was up 1.4%.
