As a result, spot basis to Chicago for white wheat climbed back to near 70 over, the best level since the middle of September. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed another extremely light week for export loadings of U.S. wheat, coming in at 6.6 mb. Shipments year-to-date stand at 361 mb and are running right in-line with a year ago. The Philippines was the top destination off the west coast, taking 2.4 mb of soft white wheat. West coast exporters remained focused on a seasonal shift to soybean loadings, as China took on 32 mb last week. Crop Progress...PNW winter wheat ratings saw a modest setback from a week ago, coming primarily from a decline in Idaho. That state saw good to excellent slip 10% to 43%, while Oregon held near 77% and Washington stayed at 64%. Emergence has been reflective of conditions and remains above average for Oregon and Washington. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2022 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
