DTN Early Word Grains 11/09 05:51 Grain Markets Firm Ahead of WASDE December corn is up 1/4 cent per bushel, January soybeans are up 3 1/4 cents, and December KC wheat is up 1 1/4 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn is up 1/4 cent per bushel, January soybeans are up 3 1/4 cents, and December KC wheat is up 1 1/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Global equities are weaker at mid-week with U.S. futures lower ahead of the cash open later Wednesday morning. Midterm voting was the focus in the last 24 hours with it looking likely Republicans will pick up enough seats to take back control of the House of Representatives. In the Senate, enough races were still too close to call to be able to say definitively which party will control the upper chamber. Energy markets are weaker overnight with crude oil being buttressed by its 50 and 100-day moving averages. The U.S. Dollar Index is higher for the first time in four sessions but has maintained its downtrends. Metals are weaker overnight with losses led by copper. Grain markets are quietly firmer overnight ahead of the November WASDE due out later Wednesday morning. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 333.83 at 33,160.83 and the S&P 500 up 21.31 at 3,806.80 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.126%. Early Wednesday, the December DJIA futures are down 82 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 155.68 (-0.56%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 16.33 points (-0.53%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 15.34 points (-0.21%), Germany's DAX down 82.51 points (-0.6%) and France's CAC 40 down 14.46 points (-0.22%). The December Euro is down 0.002 at 1.010 and the December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.213 at 109.755. The December 30-Year T-Bond is down 2/32nds, while December gold is down $4.40 at $1,711.60 and December crude oil is down $0.58 at $88.33. Corn on China's Dalian Exchange was down 0.38% while soybeans were down 0.68% and soybean meal was down 0.02%.
