DTN Early Word Grains 11/10 05:50 Grain Futures Drift Lower Ahead of Exports December corn is down 1 cent per bushel, January soybeans are down 2 cents, and December KC wheat is down 3/4 cent. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn is down 1 cent per bushel, January soybeans are down 2 cents, and December KC wheat is down 3/4 cent. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Mostly weaker equity trade globally overnight while U.S. futures are slightly firmer early Thursday morning. Financial markets will be trying to sort through the turmoil in cryptocurrency markets again Thursday as one of the largest crypto exchanges teeters on the verge of bankruptcy. Thursday will also see the release of the October Consumer Price Index. Energy markets are weaker overnight with crude oil trading below the 85-handle mark overnight after trading to almost $94 per barrel just four sessions ago. The U.S. Dollar Index is firmer overnight, looking to close higher for the second session in a row. Metals are weaker overnight with copper down 1.2%. Grains are weaker overnight, following through on the lower closes from Wednesday. The November WASDE did nothing to change current trends with focus back to South American weather, Black Sea headlines and Chinese buying. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 646.89 at 32,513.94 and the S&P 500 down 79.54 at 3,828.11 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.151%. Early Thursday, the December DJIA futures are up 67 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 270.33 (-0.98%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 12.04 points (-0.39%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 16.58 points (-0.23%), Germany's DAX down 16.23 points (-0.12%) and France's CAC 40 down 38.32 points (-0.6%). The December Euro is down 0.005 at 1.000 and the December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.370 at 110.830. The December 30-Year T-Bond is up 17/32nds, while December gold is down $3.10 at $1,710.60 and December crude oil is down $0.72 at $85.11. Corn on China's Dalian Exchange was down 0.39% while soybeans were up 0.18% and soybean meal was up 0.87%.
