DTN Early Word Grains 11/15 05:54 Grain Markets Drift Lower Overnight December corn is down 3 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 4 cents, and December KC wheat is down 8 1/2 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn is down 3 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 4 cents, and December KC wheat is down 8 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Global equity markets are mixed to higher overnight with U.S. futures pointing towards a positive open later Tuesday morning. Energy markets are weak overnight with crude oil slipping back below the $85/bbl mark and trading to the lowest level since October 25. The U.S. Dollar Index is back to its losing ways after a one-day respite Monday with the greenback at the lowest level since August 15. The U.S. dollar is now below its 50 and 100-day moving averages with the 200-day next up at 104.7227. Metals are lightly mixed overnight with copper and gold higher while silver trades lower. Grain markets are following the generally weak commodity tone overnight, despite the weaker U.S. Dollar Index. The two-sided to weaker tone in grains of late hasn't been from overtly bearish news, but simply a lack of fresh bullish inputs to make funds defend their length. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 211.16 at 33,536.70 and the S&P 500 down 35.68 at 3,992.93 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.865%. Early Tuesday, the December DJIA futures are up 150 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 26.7 (0.1%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 50.68 points (1.64%). European markets are mixed with London's FTSE 100 up 6.28 points (0.09%), Germany's DAX down 7.44 points (-0.05%) and France's CAC 40 up 24.65 points (0.37%). The December Euro is up 0.006 at 1.040 and the December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.506 at 106.025. The December 30-Year T-Bond is up 23/32nds, while December gold is up $1.60 at $1,778.50 and December crude oil is down $1.16 at $84.71. Corn on China's Dalian Exchange was down 0.73% while soybeans were down 0.89% and soybean meal was down 0.2%.
