DTN Early Word Grains 11/16 05:50 Grains Weak as Tensions Ease in Black Sea December corn is down 5 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 9 3/4 cents, and December KC wheat is down 12 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn is down 5 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 9 3/4 cents, and December KC wheat is down 12 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Mixed to lower equity markets overnight with U.S. futures slightly higher early Wednesday. The biggest news in financial markets the last 24 hours was certainly the missile strike in Poland that was originally thought to be Russian in origin. Western officials have since said they believe it to be Ukrainian origin, deescalating the situation at least temporarily. Energy markets are flat to slightly higher with RBOB leading gains overnight. The U.S. Dollar Index is weaker, remaining inside Tuesday's range but continuing its sharp decline the last two weeks. Metals are mixed to higher with copper down 0.37% while gold and silver are solidly higher. Grain markets are giving back most of, if not all the gains from the prior session as traders realize an imminent clash between NATO and Russia might be off the table. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 56.22 at 33,592.92 and the S&P 500 up 34.48 at 3,957.25 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.799%. Early Wednesday, the December DJIA futures are up 60 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 38.13 (0.14%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 14.1 points (-0.45%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 up 18.18 points (0.25%), Germany's DAX down 68.36 points (-0.48%) and France's CAC 40 down 4.85 points (-0.07%). The December Euro is up 0.006 at 1.040 and the December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.520 at 105.775. The December 30-Year T-Bond is up 7/32nds, while December gold is up $9.00 at $1,785.80 and December crude oil is up $0.22 at $87.14. Corn on China's Dalian Exchange was down 0.46% while soybeans were up 0.35% and soybean meal was down 0.26%.
