DTN Early Word Grains 11/18 05:49 Grains Catch a Bid Overnight December corn is up 3 1/2 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 4 1/4 cents, and December KC wheat is up 3 3/4 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn is up 3 1/2 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 4 1/4 cents, and December KC wheat is up 3 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Mixed trade in global equities overnight with U.S. futures not quite positive on the week even though it is looking like a higher open Friday morning. Equity markets are still grappling with mixed economic data and how the Federal Reserve might interpret that in their decisions on interest rates. Energy markets are weaker overnight with crude oil looking at a third straight lower close. For the week, crude oil is down over $7.00 per barrel. The U.S. Dollar Index is slightly weaker overnight but mostly consolidating inside this week's range. Metals are mixed with copper lower and precious metals higher. Grain markets are higher overnight on a technical bounce with corn carrying the most positive sentiment at the moment. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 7.51 at 33,546.32 and the S&P 500 down 12.23 at 3,958.79 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.775%. Early Friday, the December DJIA futures are up 136 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 30.8 (-0.11%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 18.19 points (-0.58%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 up 68.85 points (0.94%), Germany's DAX up 168.65 points (1.18%) and France's CAC 40 up 84.45 points (1.28%). The December Euro is up 0.001 at 1.040 and the December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.127 at 106.465. The December 30-Year T-Bond is down 6/32nds, while December gold is up $4.30 at $1,767.30 and January crude oil is down $0.14 at $81.26. Corn on China's Dalian Exchange was down 0.28% while soybeans were down 0.27% and soybean meal was down 0.81%.
