DTN Early Word Grains 11/21 05:48 Row Crops Lower, U.S. Dollar Higher to Start Holiday Week December corn was down 4 cents, January soybeans were down 7 cents and December KC wheat was down 1 cent. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 4 cents, January soybeans were down 7 cents and December KC wheat was down 1 cent. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, stock futures in the U.S. were trading lower and the U.S. Dollar Index was trading higher with another rate hike expected in December. According to CNBC.com, this week's earnings reports include several large retailers like Best Buy, Dick's Sporting Goods and Dollar Tree. Trading may be quieter in this holiday-shortened week. USDA's weekly report of export inspections at 10 a.m. CDT Monday will be noticed as an indication of how barge traffic is doing on the Mississippi River. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 199.37 at 33,745.69 and the S&P 500 up 18.78 at 3,965.34, while the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 3.82%, down from the highest yield since 2008. Early Monday, December Dow Jones futures are trading down 77 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.16% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.39%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.15%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.46% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.17%. The December euro is down $0.0101 at $1.0249. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.95 at 107.78. The December 30-year T-bond is down 2/32nds, while December gold is down $14.90 at $1,739.50 and December crude oil is down $0.54 at $79.57. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 1.0%, January soybeans were down 0.2%, January soybean meal was up 0.2% and January soybean oil was down 1.2%. January Malaysian palm oil is trading up 0.2%.
