DTN Early Word Grains 11/22 05:49 Crop Prices Steady to Lower in Quiet, Pre-Holiday Trade March corn was steady, January soybeans were down 2 cents and March KC wheat was steady. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: March corn was steady, January soybeans were down 2 cents and March KC wheat was steady. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Tuesday, stock futures in the U.S. were trading a little higher, in line with higher stock prices in Europe and Asia and also helped by modest gains in Treasury prices. The U.S. dollar is a little lower early with earnings reports expected later from Best Buy and Dollar Tree. Traders will pay attention to public comments from Fed officials, but trading may be quiet ahead of several reports on Wednesday, including minutes from the latest Federal Reserve meeting. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 45.41 at 33,700.28 and the S&P 500 down 15.40 at 3,949.94, while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.82%, down from the highest yield since 2008. Early Tuesday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 30 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.61% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.13%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.91%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.57% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.38%. The December euro is up $0.0027 at $1.0287. The December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.36 at 107.37. The December 30-year T-bond is up 12/32nds, while December gold is up $8.50 at $1,748.10 and December crude oil is up $0.49 at $80.53. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.4%, January soybeans were up 0.3%, January soybean meal was up 0.9% and January soybean oil was down 0.7%. February Malaysian palm oil is trading up 3.9%.
