DTN Early Word Grains 11/23 05:49 Crop Prices Quietly Mixed on Day Before Thanksgiving March corn was up 2 cents, January soybeans were steady and March KC wheat was down 4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: March corn was up 2 cents, January soybeans were steady and March KC wheat was down 4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, stock futures in the U.S. were trading slightly higher in line with stocks in Europe and Asia. Several reports are on Wednesday's docket, including weekly jobless claims, October durable goods orders, October new home sales and minutes from the latest Fed meeting. The U.S. Drought Monitor will be updated at 7:30 a.m. CDT. The Energy Department's weekly inventory report will be out at 9:30 a.m. and will include last week's ethanol production. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 397.82 at 34,098.10 and the S&P 500 up 53.64 at 4,003.58, while the 10-Year Treasury yield fell to 3.76%, down from the highest yield since 2008. Early Wednesday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 11 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.61% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.26%. European markets are mostly higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.52%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.02% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.20%. The December euro is up $0.0031 at $1.0346. The December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.24 at 106.88. The December 30-year T-bond is up 6/32nds, while December gold is up $0.60 at $1,740.50 and December crude oil is up $0.68 at $81.63. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.6%, January soybeans were up 1.1%, January soybean meal was up 0.7% and January soybean oil was up 0.5%. January Malaysian palm oil is trading up 2.8%.
