DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/13 13:48 Soybeans, Bean Oil Surge; Corn Runs Into Tough Resistance Grain and soy markets rose in unison early Tuesday, but both corn and wheat ran into some solid resistance late in the day. Soybeans and products led the way higher, with bean oil continuing the recovery along with crude oil. Wheat closed mixed, with only Chicago lower, but sold off from the highs. November's Consumer Price Index came in at 7.1% versus 7.3% expected, sending the dollar lower and equities higher. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 1/2 cent and July corn was unchanged. January soybeans closed up 19 1/4 cents and July soybeans were up 17 3/4 cents. March KC wheat closed up 3 cents, March Chicago wheat was down 4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was up 6 1/2 cents. The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 1.10 at 104.01. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 81.34 points at 34,086.38. December gold is up $30.70 at $1,823.0, December silver is up $0.56 at $23.96 and December copper is up $0.0435. December crude oil is up $2.31 at $75.48, December ultra-low sulfur diesel is up $0.1275, December RBOB gasoline is up $0.0845 and December natural gas is up $0.356.
