DTN Early Word Grains 12/14 05:47 Grains Mostly Lower at Midweek March corn is down 4 1/4 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 9 cents, and March KC wheat is down 11 3/4 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst PRE-6 AM GLOBEX PRICES: March corn is down 4 1/4 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 9 cents, and March KC wheat is down 11 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Mixed equities overnight with Asia higher while European indices have turned lower. U.S. futures are flat overnight as investors continue to take stock of the lower-than-expected inflation print ahead of the latest FOMC decision later Wednesday afternoon. The U.K. also showed slowing inflation this month, adding more evidence to central bank thinking that peak inflation is in fact behind us. Energy markets are higher overnight with crude back above $76.00 per barrel. The U.S. Dollar Index is weaker and now trading below its 200-day moving average for the first time since June of 2021. Metals are mixed with copper higher while gold and silver trade lower. Grain markets are weaker except for soy meal as the choppy trade continues. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 103.60 at 34,108.64 and the S&P 500 up 29.09 at 3,990.56 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.501%. Early Wednesday, the March DJIA futures are down 4 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 201.36 (0.72%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 0.2 points (0.01%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 20.82 points (-0.28%), Germany's DAX down 103.94 points (-0.72%) and France's CAC 40 down 40.72 points (-0.6%). The December Euro is up 0.002 at 1.070 and the December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.183 at 103.760. The March 30-Year T-Bond is down 9/32nds, while February gold is down $6.50 at $1,819.00 and January crude oil is up $0.72 at $76.11. Corn on China's Dalian Exchange was down 0.14% while soybeans were down 0.26% and soybean meal was down 0.8%.
