DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/28 13:39 Soybeans, Corn, Meal Surge on Argentine Dryness, Export Potential Soybeans and soy meal led the way higher Wednesday as weather models have taken out the potential for heavy rains in dry Argentine crop areas. Corn was along for the ride as well, as the stronger South American basis has made both corn and soymeal more competitive. Winter wheats were higher again on the prospect for winterkill damage and fund short-covering, with KC March moving to a sixth straight higher close. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed up 8 cents per bushel and May corn was up 8 1/4 cents. January soybeans closed up 24 1/4 cents and March soybeans were up 25 1/4 cents. March KC wheat closed up 3 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 11 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was steady.
