DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/30 13:54 March Soybean Meal and Soybeans Soar Early, Meal Scores a New Contract High Following updated soybean condition reports on Argentina's soy crop, both soybeans and meal took off, with meal closing sharply higher, and again reaching a new contract high. Warm and dry weather is slated to return to Argentina further impacting the crops there. Wheat surged after early morning weakness on year-end short-covering, while corn traded both sides of unchanged before settling a penny lower. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 1 cent per bushel and May corn was down 1 cent. January soybeans closed up 10 1/2 cents and March soybeans were up 7 3/4 cents. March KC wheat closed up 21 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 18 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was up 25 cents.
