DTN Early Word Grains 01/04 05:51 Wheat Prices Sag Early Wednesday, While Soybeans Find Support March corn is down 2 cents, March soybeans are up 11 cents and March KC wheat is down 10 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is down 2 cents, March soybeans are up 11 cents and March KC wheat is down 10 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, stock futures in the U.S. were a little higher, encouraged by higher trade in Europe and higher T-bond prices. The Institute of Supply Management's index of U.S. manufacturing for December is set for 9 a.m. CST Wednesday. Minutes from the latest Federal Reserve meeting will be out at 1 p.m. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 10.88 at 33,136.37 and the S&P 500 down 15.36 at 3,824.14, while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.79%, down from the highest yield in over a month. Early Wednesday, March Dow Jones futures are trading up 94 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 1.45% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.22%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.26%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 1.09% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 1.30%. The March euro is up $0.0046 at $1.0663. The March U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.50 at 103.82. The March 30-year T-bond is up 1 8/32nds, while February gold is up $21.10 at $1,867.20 and February crude oil is down $1.51 at $75.42. On China's Dalian exchange, March corn was up 1.2%, March soybeans were down 0.8%, May soybean meal was down 1.3% and May soybean oil was down 0.2%. March Malaysian palm oil is trading down 2.0%.
