DTN Early Word Grains 01/10 05:49 Wheat Leads Grain Sector Lower Early Tuesday March corn is down 2 cents, March soybeans are down 12 cents and March KC wheat is down 18 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is down 2 cents, March soybeans are down 12 cents and March KC wheat is down 18 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Tuesday, stock futures in the U.S. and Europe were trading lower with earnings reports from big banks expected later this week. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is expected to speak in Sweden Tuesday and there are no significant reports on the docket. China's stock market is holding up and is trading higher Tuesday, in spite of Covid spreading throughout the country. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 112.96 at 33,517.65 and the S&P 500 down 2.99 at 3,892.09, while the 10-Year Treasury yield fell to 3.52%, below its 100-day average. Early Tuesday, March Dow Jones futures are trading down 100 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.78% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.38%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.15%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.71% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.49%. The March euro is down $0.0014 at $1.0786. The March U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.18 at 102.92. The March 30-year T-bond is down 11/32nds, while February gold is up $2.80 at $1,880.60 and February crude oil is up $0.13 at $74.76. On China's Dalian exchange, March corn was down 0.6%, March soybeans were down 1.3%, May soybean meal was down 0.7% and May soybean oil was down 1.5%. March Malaysian palm oil is trading down 2.5%.
