DTN Closing Grain Comments 01/11 13:45 Grain, Soy Markets Firm Up in Quiet Trade Ahead of Thursday WASDE Report In very quiet trade, each of the markets, except for bean oil, firmed up a bit on a day where there was very little in the way of fresh news to drive values. Argentine weather continues to be the primary focus for corn and bean markets, with a bullish short-term weather outlook, but some hints that late January-February weather could take a turn for the better. Wheat markets finished modestly higher, with KC March avoiding a seventh consecutive lower close. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed up 1 cent per bushel and May corn was up 3/4 cent. January soybeans closed up 5 cents and March soybeans were up 8 cents. March KC wheat closed up 10 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 9 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was up 4 1/2 cents.
