DTN Early Word Grains 01/13 05:36 Crop Prices Edge Higher on Friday the 13th March corn is up 2 cents, March soybeans are up 6 cents and March KC wheat is up 6 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is up 2 cents, March soybeans are up 6 cents and March KC wheat is up 6 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Friday, stock futures in the U.S. were slightly higher along with small gains in Europe. There is likely some relief among traders that Thursday's consumer price index showed a small decline in December, but it wasn't enough to make anyone think the Fed will stop raising interest rates. Several earnings reports are set to be released Friday, including several large banks, reported CNBC.com. The University of Michigan's index of U.S. consumer sentiment will be out at 9 a.m. CST Friday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 216.96 at 34,189.97 and the S&P 500 up 13.56 at 3,983.17, while the 10-Year Treasury yield fell to 3.45%, below its 100-day average. Early Friday, March Dow Jones futures are steady. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 1.25% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.01%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.31%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.22% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.68%. The March euro is down $0.0004 at $1.0888. The March U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.08 at 101.92. The March 30-year T-bond is down 2/32nds, while February gold is up $8.60 at $1,907.40 and February crude oil is up $0.35 at $78.74. On China's Dalian exchange, March corn was up 0.3%, March soybeans were up 0.7%, May soybean meal was up 1.1% and May soybean oil was up 0.2%. March Malaysian palm oil is trading down 1.8%.
