Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is up 2 cents, March soybeans are up 8 cents and March KC wheat is up 8 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, stock futures in the U.S. were trading slightly lower, extending Tuesday's losses after encountering disappointing earnings reports from large financial firms, including Goldman Sachs. According to CNBC.com, Wednesday's earnings will include reports from Discover, JB Hunt and Charles Schwab. Crude oil is trading higher early Wednesday after the International Energy Agency said it expects record world oil demand in 2023, largely due to China's looser Covid policies, while sanctions are expected to slow Russia's production. A report on December U.S. retail sales will be released at 8 a.m. CST Wednesday, followed by December industrial production at 9:15 a.m. and the Fed's Beige Book at 1 p.m. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 391.76 at 33,910.85 and the S&P 500 down 8.12 at 3,990.97, while the 10-Year Treasury yield inched up to 3.53%, near its lowest in four months. Early Wednesday, March Dow Jones futures are down 13 points. Asian markets are mixed to higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 2.50% and China's Shanghai Composite Index unchanged. European markets are mostly higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.24%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.01% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.10%. The March euro is up $0.0071 at $1.0904. The March U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.44 at 101.70. The March 30-year T-bond is up 20/32nds, while February gold is up $7.10 at $1,917.0 and February crude oil is up $1.37 at $81.55. On China's Dalian exchange, March corn was up 0.2%, March soybeans were up 1.2%, May soybean meal was up 1.2% and May soybean oil was up 1.3%. March Malaysian palm oil is trading up 2.2%.
