DTN Early Word Grains 01/24 05:41 Grains Bounce in Turnaround Tuesday March corn is up 4 cents per bushel, March soybeans are up 4 3/4 cents, and March KC wheat is up 7 1/2 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is up 4 cents per bushel, March soybeans are up 4 3/4 cents, and March KC wheat is up 7 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Equity markets around the globe are mixed with Asia firmer while Europe is a bit lower. U.S. futures are slightly lower early Tuesday following a strong showing Monday as earnings season ramps up. Supporting financial markets is the continued optimism the Federal Reserve will continue to slow its pace of interest rate increases in the meetings ahead. A busy week of week earnings including Boeing, Comcast, Chevron, IBM, Microsoft and Tesla will also help set the tone for the balance of Q1. Energy markets are flat to slightly lower overnight as crude oil retains the 80.00 mark for now. The U.S. Dollar Index is lower overnight but inside the range of the last five sessions and just off eight month lows. Metals are mixed overnight with copper slightly lower while gold and silver are higher. Grain markets are bouncing overnight with the exception of soybean oil following the lower closes Monday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 254.07 at 33,629.56 and the S&P 500 up 47.20 at 3,972.61 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.525%. Early Tuesday, the March DJIA futures are down 76 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 393.15 (1.46%) while China's Shanghai Composite is closed. European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 28.55 points (-0.37%), Germany's DAX down 37.93 points (-0.25%) and France's CAC 40 up 1.72 points (0.02%). The March Euro is up 0.001 at 1.090 and the March U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.086 at 101.830. The March 30-Year T-Bond is up 15/32nds, while February gold is up $9.90 at $1,938.50 and March crude oil is down $0.05 at $81.57. The Dalian Commodity Exchange remains closed.
