DTN Early Word Grains 01/25 05:41 Wheat Starts Higher Wednesday With Cold Forecast, Soybeans Lower March corn is up 1 cent, March soybeans are down 9 cents and March KC wheat is up 11 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is up 1 cent, March soybeans are down 9 cents and March KC wheat is up 11 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, stock futures in the U.S. were trading lower with ongoing concerns about slower economic activity in 2023. Early Wednesday, the Bank of Canada is expected to raise its interest rate a quarter-percent, followed by the Federal Reserve's next decision on February 1. According to Reuters, Microsoft reported a network outage Wednesday that may have interrupted service for Outlook. The U.S. Energy Department's weekly inventory report is due out at 9:30 a.m. CST. Over 200 earnings reports are due out Wednesday, including several large companies, like IBM and AT&T. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 104.40 at 33,733.96 and the S&P 500 down 2.86 at 4,016.95, while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.47%, near the lowest yields in four months. Early Monday, March Dow Jones futures are down 155 points. Asian markets are a little higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.35%. European markets are mostly lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.14%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.65% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.27%. The March euro is down $0.0006 at $1.0914. The March U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.07 at 101.75. The March 30-year T-bond is up 20/32nds, while February gold is down $6.50 at $1,928.90 and March crude oil is down $0.03 at $80.10. China's markets are closed this week for the New Year holiday. March Malaysian palm oil is trading down 3.4%.
